About the Institute
Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology
Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology was established in January 2022 as the result of the merger of five research institutes in Poznan: Łukasiewicz – Institute of Logistics and Warehousing, Łukasiewicz – Wood Technology Institute, Łukasiewicz – Industrial Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Łukasiewicz – Metal Forming Institute, Łukasiewicz – Rail Vehicles Institute „TABOR”. Each institute provided its long traditions, professional staff and know–how. The current research centres of the new Institute are engaged in innovative R&D work within various areas, including wood technology, metal forming, rail vehicles, logistics, information technology, and agricultural and food technology.
The directions of the Institute’s work include research into reducing energy consumption in the operation of machinery, reducing the impact of machinery and equipment on environmental devastation and health hazards, satellite technology for precision agriculture, computer analysis of structures, as well as the development of computerized machine design and diagnosis systems.
Łukasiewicz Research Network – Poznań Institute of Technology is a member of ENTAM (European Network for Testing of Agricultural Machines) and POLLAB (Polish Research Laboratories’ Club).
The main products offered by the Institute to machinery companies are innovative machine designs and specialized research and design services. The Institute conducts continuous cooperation with machinery manufacturers in Poland and abroad.
